The Youth Entrepreneurship Mentorship program is a program aimed mostly at mentoring young people in entrepreneurial initiatives. According to Gachugia, T. M., Mulu-Mutuku, M., and Odero-Wanga, D. 2014, 34.27 percent (4,066,362) of Kenya’s 11.8 million youth were unemployed as of December, when the study data was gathered. The disparity in wealth through age demographics became quite evident as a result of this. In an environment afflicted by hiring freezes and sagging business profits, youth under 35 are the hardest affected by unemployment. Adults aged 20 to 34 register for 14.2% of the unemployed.

Most of the youths are unemployed mainly because they do not have all the skills that are required. They lack basic entrepreneurship skills. Entrepreneurship opportunities are everywhere in the country. If these youths are trained, guided, and equipped with entrepreneurial knowledge, this will reduce the youths’ unemployment rate. Entrepreneurial skills training provides the basics of starting and operating a small business. Entrepreneurship education programs often guide the child by developing a business plan and may include business start-ups and operations simulations.

The Entrepreneur Mentoring Program is designed to empower commercial and social entrepreneurs within SMEs and family businesses by matching them with trained mentors and facilitating the foundations’ setting to enable a long-term trust-based and mutually beneficial mentoring relationship to develop.

A brief description of the Youth Entrepreneurship program.

Entrepreneurial skills training provides the basics of starting and operating a small business. Such activity must develop the skills associated with entrepreneurship. Such gifts may include, but are not limited to, the ability to; take the initiative; creatively seek out and identify business opportunities; develop budgets and forecast resource needs, understand various options for acquiring capital and the trade-offs associated with each option and communicate effectively and market oneself and one’s ideas. Approaches to teaching youth entrepreneurial skills include, but are not limited to, entrepreneurship education that provides an introduction to the values and basics of starting and running a business.

The Youth Entrepreneurship training program will guide the youth by developing a business plan and may include simulations of business start-ups and operations. Enterprise development provides supports and services that incubate and help the child build their businesses. Enterprise development programs go beyond entrepreneurship education by helping youth access small loans or grants needed to begin business operations and provide more individualized attention to the development of viable business ideas. Experiential programs that provide youth with experience in the day-to-day operation of a business. These programs may involve a youth-run company that young people participating in the program work in and manage. Or, they may facilitate placement in apprentice or internship positions with adult entrepreneurs in the community.

Key objectives & learning outcomes for Youth Entrepreneurship Mentoring Program.

I)Key objectives.

  1. a) Entrepreneurial education and training will provide individuals with the ability to recognize commercial opportunities, self‐esteem, knowledge, and skills to act on them.
  2. b) Equipping the trainees with instructions in opportunity recognition, commercializing a concept, managing resources, and initiating a business venture.

c)Educating the trainees on financing their ventures as a capital aspect of entrepreneurial practice.

  1. d) To develop and strengthen the entrepreneurial quality, motivate them for achievement, and enable participants to be independent, capable, promising business people.
  2. e) The make the trainees prepared to start their enterprise after the completion of the training program.

ii)Learning outcomes.

The workshop’s purpose is to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills required to organize and carry out entrepreneurial activities, develop the ability to analyze and understand business situations in which entrepreneurs act, and master the knowledge necessary to plan entrepreneurial activities. The trainees will be able to develop the ability to analyze various aspects of entrepreneurship – especially of taking over the risk, the specificities, and the pattern of entrepreneurship development and, finally, to contribute to their entrepreneurial and managerial potentials.

“All protocols observed; good afternoon, everyone. I’m (insert name), the director of Mazingira Organization. Our organization is based in Kenya. We mainly deal with environmental sustainability. Over the past few years, there have been concerns about climate change in various places of the world. Climate change has become one of the most critical global challenges of our times. Recent events have emphatically demonstrated our growing vulnerability to climate change. Climate change impacts range from affecting agriculture, further endangering food security to sea-level rise and the accelerated erosion of coastal zones, increasing the intensity of natural disasters, species extinction, and spreading vector-borne diseases. This issue is of immense importance for every global citizen. Hence it requires an initiative against it globally.

The youth play a crucial role in leading the Climate Change Agenda. They can involve themselves in activities such as: joining environmental organizations or groups, participating in various governmental, non-governmental, school, or community programs and projects against climate change, joining clean-up drives at school or in the community, participating in tree planting and go-green activities; garbage picking and recycling. The youth can play an active role in protecting and improving the environment. They can make their homes, schools, and youth organizations more environmentally friendly by adopting environmentally friendly practices, recycling different materials, and preserving resources such as water and electricity.

I believe young people can adept at spreading new habits and technologies to contribute to the fight against climate change. Youth are adaptable and can quickly make low-carbon lifestyles and career choices as a part of their daily lives. Young people constitute a large part of the world’s population, and young people will have to live longer with the consequences of current environmental decisions than will their elders. Future generations will also be affected by these decisions and the extent to which they have addressed concerns such as the depletion of resources, biodiversity loss, and long-lived radioactive wastes. Engaging youth in environmental protection directly impacts changing youth behaviors and attitudes and possibly influences their parents, relatives, and families. Youth is the backbone of the nation. They can change the future of society with their well-being and courageous behavior. Unfortunately, today we find the youth who are more interested in other places that are not helpful to them nationally. They choose to spend their days doing drugs and playing video games. They spend their nights partying and living it up. More and more young men of this age group sit at home in front of their televisions playing games all day instead of bettering themselves or going to work. They have no vision, and if they do have dreams, they do not have the drive to make any attempt at achieving them. The environment is defined as our surroundings, including both living and non-living things, and youth are the young people.

In conclusion, climatic change is a broad subject. There are environmental problems that emerge from climatic changes. They are rising day by day, and everyone is concerned about global warming and climate change globally, but local and national environmental problems are less concerned. Protecting the environment starts with pollution control; therefore, youth can help reduce waste by paying attention to minor details in their daily lives, for example, not taking extra plastic bags when we go shopping. There are many other tips for a greener environment. The youth should thus play the role of making sure that they conserve the environment, to prevent climatic changes that can pose dangers to living organisms.”
