Introduction
A reflective statement is a statement that describes different events that have occurred in the past in a detailed manner. This statement is usually based on real facts about ancient history and how the activities that were taking place affected the timeline. The main aim of the paper is to analyze the roles played by two ancient women in the community. Various articles describe how the Trojan war took place and how the city of Troy was affected by the war. This paper is giving a piece of detailed information based on various studies which show how the Achilles and Homers Iliad took part in the Trojan War.
The war took part in two fronts, in that it involved the Achilles and Homers Iliad. The two groups of individuals were fighting each other because of the influence created by another group of people. This war resulted in the death of many Achaeans because the Trojans overpowered them. This is because the Zeus supported the Trojans. From this war, there are many things that we get to discover this is because there is a rise of superheroes who help society. Most of these heroes had supernatural powers that enabled them to protect other individuals. In addition, from this war, one is capable of understanding how different things occurred and what were the main influential characters of the war.
The other thing that ancient history bring is how the character traits of an individual can make someone strong in the war. This is shown when the two fighters Nestor and Patroclus, the two fighters were friends; hence, they supported each other at war against the Trojans. The other thing that we learned from Homers Iliad and Achilles is how the roles of two tragic women affected the society and people around them. The two women are significant female features in the myth and tragedies of ancient Greece. The two women were both vengeful and can be described as wicked in modern society. However, the objective is to provide an unbiased view of their traits and behaviors to reach to a conclusion of who is “the worst women.” There are varied depictions of the two women that portray them as ruthless, remorseless, vengeful, all of which were characters associated with women in mythical ancient Greece.
Dissertation
The dominant ideas that the paper is bringing out in about the Trojan War and the Achilles and homers Iliad is that war can only result in negative and unbeneficial results to the society. This is because individuals mostly lose their lives. The other thing that can be seen from history is that the occurrence of war can also interfere with the timeline. This is shown in the ancient Greek, and the war affected the country up to date despite it being the most developed ancient city. Moreover, the paper also shows how different genders are treated in society and how their presence resulted in the occurrence of the war. The excellent example of how female gender led to the occurrence of the Trojan War is when Clytaemnestra got involved in the murder of her husband Agamemnon and his concubine. This situation was used to despise women according to ancient history.
Lessons learned from the war
There were various lessons that one is capable of learning from the Trojan War, which took place for about ten years. Some of the experiences could be easily understood while others were hard since they required one to view them at different angles, so to understand.
- Importance of family. This is the first moral lesson learned from the Iliad since the families are the primary cause of the conflict that last over a long period of time. Thus one can understand the importance of a united family.
- Importance of friendship. This is another lesson that is learned from the war. The act of friendship is shown by two individuals who fight together at war. Achilles and Patroclus had a strong bond which helped them in many ways during the war.
- This is another lesson that one from the war. Pride can affect some, especially during war or competition, and this is a weakness that has resulted in falling of many worriers in the society. This trait is portrayed by Achilles refusing to fight because Agamemnon took his trophy away.
- Good leaders must be servants. This is the other timeless lesson learned from the war. Most of the leaders in the war were selfish since they were involved in activities that only benefits them. Therefore this resulted in their death. The excellent example of a self-centered leader is Agamemnon.
Aims and objectives of the Achilles and Homers Iliad
There were various motives behind the war since others were aiming at benefiting themselves from the war. However, studies indicate that the war was caused by a lack of maturity among the leaders of society; thus, individuals are overpowered by their emotions. Therefore the following are aims and objectives of the Achilles and Homers Iliad.
- Desire to achieve glory. This was the aim of most characters since they wanted the community to fear them because of their supernatural capabilities.
- This is another aim of the war since most of the people were having an ill feeling about others. Thus this made them engage in the war. Research indicates that this is the main objective of this war.
- This is another aim of the individuals, this because most of the people were driven by pride; thus, they end up starting the war so that they can prove their superiority over others.
Thus this is the main objective which resulted in the occurrence of the war. Hence it is always important to consider various things that occur in the society this is because they are the driving force of violence in the community. In addition, there were characters who influenced the war, and most were the female characters. Clytaemnestra killed her husband to revenge the death of her daughter and to punish the husband for his betrayal. Medea, on the other hand, kills her husband and his bride together with her children for the deception she had seen from her husband. In both cases, Agamemnon and Jason violated the expectations of their wives.
Conclusion
In conclusion, several lessons are learned from the Achilles and Homers Iliad. This is because of the various things that occurred during the Trojan War. Therefore this story is of significance since it describes the timeless lessons and the importance of living in harmony in the society.
