It is a chilly Monday morning and my heart is pounding with excitement. This is the day that we finally get our exam results and know our fate. I open my card, and for the first time, I see a grade D indicated on my report card. Shocked and still in disbelief, I pick up my bag and ran out of class. This becomes the defining moment that shapes my life significantly.
My eleventh grade in high school profoundly frustrated me. Having had it easy throughout my elementary and middle school years, getting an overall grade D was devastating. I felt broken, discontented, and was angry with myself. The frequent glances from my classmates began to bother me, and I became scared of maintaining eye contact with them.
