In the story of the Two Kinds by Amy Tan, the author introduces us to Jing Mei’s mother. She had migrated from china during a war whereby she lost all she had. Finally, she halts at Mei being a piano virtuoso. In this short story, the author has certainly transcended the immigrant involvement.

The author Sandra Cisneros tells introduces us to the victimization on undocumented immigrants. They are easy targets for exploitation and discrimination in their lifestyles. Geraldo cannot communicate in English he is referred as ‘a wetback’ which is a term referring to a person who acts peculiarly and embarrassed. Just like Geraldo many immigrants in today’s society always have their fate unknown to their close associates and their families that live where they had migrated from.
In the story, ‘I see you never’, the author Ray Badbury introduces us to a man Mr. Ramirez. It is here where we notice he might have come to the United States of America at the ages of the Second World War. The idea of the setting being in the Second World War comes from the fact that he might have been working in an airplane factory during the same period. At the time the government officers captured him he was in Los Angeles. The physical setting of the main characters in the story happened at Mrs. O’Brien’s door. This is despite of the fact that Mr. Ramirez is not dangerous at all. The tipping of their capes to Mrs. O’Brian was a sigh of a non-violent situation.
