Missions Terminology	Definition or examples with citation
10/40 Window	The tenth to fortieth latitude imaginary window that borders Asia, Middle East, and Africa, where non-christian religions and the world’s unreached peoples are contained (Moreau et al. 2015pp. 15).
4/14 Window	This is a time when children have a higher probability of their lives to Christ at the same time, realized as the most vulnerable age.
Business as Mission (BAM)	These are the non-profit business activities that are led by a Christian to devote to God’s mission in the world, that operated domestically od internationally (Johnson, C. N. 2009, 27-28).
Church-Planting Movements (CPM)	Radicle development of indigenous churches that carry along with the entire or segment of people’s population (Garrison 2004 pp. 21)
Contextualization	The main concept tackled here is that the gospel is interpreted in a different context for easy understanding by the people receiving it (Moreau 2012 pp. 32-36).
Diaspora	This is the scattering of people across the globe due to displacement, economic migration, among others. Through such scattering, missional action has been spread across the world as well as missiological reflection.
Ecumenical Movement	This is related to the protestant churches and denominations that work along with the World Council of Churches to achieve eternal unity.
Holistic or Integral Mission	This is the ministry or mission that is inclusive of all personal, social, and spiritual needs of human beings. Further, it involves church planting and evangelism and activities geared towards development and transforming societies.
Incarnational Mission	Christ was incarnated on behave of all the missionaries; thus, they do not need to incarnate themselves. Since the ministers cannot become newborns again, they have the opportunity to learn the culture and language in the new context.
Indigenous Church	A church that is established to fit the needs or demands of the local culture. It is a self-governed church because it does not depend on external sources or decision making. It is self-supported because the church does not seek external aid in terms of funding. The church is self-propagated, meaning that it can conduct its distinct evangelistic ministry as defined by its culture where it is established.
Indigenous Missionary	This is a missionary from a local culture with indigenous evangelism.Though the term can as well be used for ministers, who come from across cultures but living within the same residence(country).
Insider Movements	These are movements within a natural community that are focused on upholding obedience and faith in Christ.The aspects that form insider movement are; 1. The gospel becomes well appreciated by the people in the communities, which later is turned to be the fundamental expression of the church, thus forming a new context. 2. According to Lewis (2009 pp.16-19), the followers maintain their identity as those who belong to their socio-religious organization while leading a life under Jesus Christ.
Mainline Denominations	These are the most established denominations in Europe and North America during the 19^th and 20^th century which includes such branches as Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, United Church of Christ and the Lutheran traditions.
Majority World	This is a term used to name denominations outside the western world.
Member Care	This is the practice of taking care of the missionaries, together with their families by meeting their spiritual, physical, social, psychological, and emotional needs.
Missio Dei	This is the mission that aims at demonstrating God’s character, without necessarily involving human activities. This is because it is God’s wish to have humans engage in missionary activities.
Mission	These are the things done by the church that point towards God’s Kingdom(Moreu et al. 2015 pp. 17)
Missional	This is the deliberate intention to partake the duties of the mission Dei.
Missions	They are efforts outside the agencies, and the church focused on reaching people across cultures and drawing them towards Christ (Moreu et al. 2015 pp. 17)
Mobilizer	A person is responsible for all the missions activities through organizing necessary resources. The role may be taken by a mission agency or the missionaries themselves.
Orality	This is the art of speaking(orature) rather than relying on the written word while in a mission.
People Group	These are collections of individuals with similar linguistic or ethnic terms.
Shalom	A word in Hebrew that means spiritual peace(salvation), real peace(healing), psychological piece(wholeness) and social peace(justice) in the Old Testament context, which in other terms referred to as soundness, completeness or wholeness.
Short-Term Missions (STM)	These are activities that take a week to one or two years to complete a mission.
Spiritual Warfare	This is the reality about Satan, who hardly wants the nonbelievers to realize the presence of Christ and does not want believers to be fruitful in leading holy lives.
Syncretism	These are the act of replacing the truth about the gospel with non – Christianity.
Transformation	These are efforts to change communities through alteration of the unjust structures to just ones such as slavery, and foot binding.
Unreached Peoples or Unreached People Group (UPG)	These are people who are not within reach of the gospel, in the sense that the prevailing conditions such as language act as a barrier to understanding the new doctrine.
