The Covid-19 Pandemic has led to many challenges and pressure like in many countries in the world since it has led to stagnation in the country’s economy in the implementations of interventions to fight the Pandemic. The government has taken measures to protect the health care workers through provision of free personal protective equipments like masks and gloves to curb the spread of the disease (Díaz-Bonilla, 2016). The Philippine government has taken stringent precautionary measures that have enhanced social distancing through suspension of public gathering and all social events (OECD, 2020). The government has actively used volunteers and community based organization to sensitize the public to reduce spread of the disease. The government has put in place responses to protect vulnerable citizens through provision of food rations.

Effects of government interventions

As a result of government interventions towards the covid-19, it has dramatically slowed down the spread and increased cases of recovery. The response has led to lessening the crisis that had spread to the labor market affecting the supply chains in the country (Baldwin, 2019). since many enterprises in the Philippines had fear when it come to investments since uncertainty and fear, due to the government interventions there has been a slight increase in investor confidence. The government actions have helped to protect vulnerable citizen from the diseases and starvation during the period of Covid-19 (OECD, 2020). The government has renegotiated, and frozen interests on loans giving people some ease during this Pandemic since many citizens are experiencing tougher economic times due to the disruption of their daily life routines.

Recommendations

The covid-19 Pandemic continues to increase; hence there is a need for the use of science and technology to fight it (Baldwin, 2019). The technological application should be used to control the spread and treat patients to reduce the pressure on health care workers who been burdened with a lot of works. Science should provide digital information and improved technology to do surveillance of the disease since people require digital data of the disease when in quarantine centers and in their homes where they are locked down by their government. Science and technology could be used by the Philippines government to collect data and evidence that could be used by public health officers in planning and decision making.

Science is essential since the use of artificial intelligence like drones and robots could be used to monitor the adherence of precautionary measures to fight the spread of the disease (Chigudu, 2020). Science could help in the development of covid-19mthrough use of gene editing. Use of advanced technology also could lead to systems that could be used by the government to facilitate fast insurance payments and supply of drugs

In conclusion, the government has involved many international organizations in the fight of Covid-19. The measures have achieved enormous since they have slowed down the spread of disease and protected vulnerable citizens from infection and tougher financial crises. To deliver effective interventions, it is essential to involve all the stakeholders like in cases where the government has educated citizens on the effect and ways to fight Covid-19.
